Disciplined Development Vision & Goals
South Jordan needs cradle-to-grave housing. We all know that. But, are we prepared for the "middle years" of young families, with tight finances?

The Mayor and City Council have taken significant steps to incentivize more affordable housing, like adopting a Moderate Income Housing Plan. But we can do more -- we have to do more.
Specific Actions and Programs:
SoJo Owns: create opportunities for wealth-building through home ownership by ensuring that residents and newcomers are aware of the great programs already offered by the City, like the Down Payment Assistance Program for first-time, low-income, homebuyers.
SoJo Builds: zoning and permitting in a way that allows for a wide range of housing options across the entire housing life-cycle: apartments, ADU's, affordable homes and condos for young families, and convenient communities for seniors.
SoJo Zones: Apartments have their place, but too many of our young people are stuck renting and we need more attainable paths to home ownership: condos, townhomes, and even tiny homes, we must be mindful of the assortment of housing types available in the city.
Affordable housing is an essential resource that requires innovative, intentional, and forward-thinking ideas. More than that, it requires continual focus and follow-through to ensure that we maintain our high quality of life.
Growth is inevitable, and disciplined development, focused on our common goals of sustainability, safety, and community must drive our City Council decisions.
I want to serve on the South Jordan City Council to help put affordable housing plans into practice with a commitment to you, to ensure city continues prioritizing growth that benefits residents, not corporations.
